Myrtle Beach, SC (June 5, 2009) – South Atlantic Bank is proud to announce Scott Plyler as South Carolina’s Young Banker of the Year as presented by the South Carolina Bankers Association.
 
Plyler is President of South Atlantic Bank. He holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina and is a graduate of both The Graduate Banking School of the South at Louisiana State University and the South Carolina Bankers School.

A resident of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Scott Plyler is a leader in his own right. Scott has been in the banking arena for over 15 years and has been on various boards from the Myrtle Beach area Chamber of Commerce to the South Carolina Banker School. He currently serves as Chairman of the Banker’s School in Columbia, South Carolina and has lead South Atlantic Bank to over $100 million in Assets in the short period they have been open.

“This is a well deserved award for Scott,” said Wayne Wicker, Chief Executive Officer of South Atlantic Bank. “He is one of the finest young men I have ever been associated with and we are very fortunate that he is a member of the South Atlantic Bank team”

The South Carolina Young Banker of the Year is selected from hundreds of bankers under the age of 40 in South Carolina. The honor is awarded annually on the basis of outstanding service to his/her own institution, contributions and dedication to the state’s commercial banking industry, and their accomplishments as well as their service to the community.
