South Atlantic Bank’s First Day Goes off Without a Hitch
Myrtle Beach, SC (January 20, 2010) – On January 15th, South Atlantic Bank closed their 21st Avenue office in Myrtle Beach at 3:00 pm to begin their long awaited move to their new home on the corner of 29th Avenue
North and Robert M. Grissom Parkway.
The following Tuesday, bank officials opened their doors at 8:30 am. Business was as usual, just on a grander scale. Scott Plyler, President of South Atlantic Bank said, “it’s going to take some getting used to having so much room to roam around in, but it gives us the opportunity to expand our staff to where we need to be.” The 21st Avenue branch was a total of 2500 square feet utilizing 1000 of that for the bank itself, while the new branch occupies 6,000 square feet of the new 16,000 square foot building.
At the end of the day, bank officials and employees gathered to celebrate. “It was an extremely great first day,” states Wayne Wicker, Chief Executive Officer of South Atlantic Bank. “We opened quite a few accounts and had a lot of foot traffic from current as well as new customers.”
An official ribbon cutting ceremony is slated for January 28, 2010. Bank officials expect local ignitaries and chamber of commerce leaders to attend the ceremony.
