South Atlantic Bank was organized in 2007 to meet the unique financial needs of businesses and consumers in the coastal communities we serve. The bank's founders recognized that the growing number of larger regional banks in the market had created an opportunity for a locally owned and operated community bank to succeed. In June 2007, the parent company, South Atlantic Bancshares, Inc. was created and plans were underway for the new bank to debut later in the year.
South Atlantic Bank opened its doors for the first time on November 28, 2007 at 2050 Corporate Centre Drive in Myrtle Beach. In January 2010, the bank moved into its new headquarters at the corner of 29th Avenue North and Grissom Parkway.
As a full service bank, we offer a wide range of personal and business products, including checking, savings, and money market accounts, along with mortgages, loans, and lines of credit. The bank offers technologically advanced products including its new mobile banking app, South Atlantic Bank goMobile. Customers have access to services in our offices and at our ATMs, via the internet, by phone, or by mail. Our primary focus is on establishing customer relationships by providing quality service and convenience with a high level of personal attention from our officers and employees.
